Fine Art Installation in New York

Hanging a painting is easy. Installing one correctly, at the right height, on the right hardware, in the right wall, with its condition documented and its security considered, is a profession. Fine art installation in New York requires an elite level of technical precision. Naglee Fine Arts provides fully insured, museum-grade installation services, a rigorous standard our expert preparators have delivered for major museums, prominent galleries, and private collectors since 1995.

How a Professional Installation Runs

It starts before anyone lifts a frame. We review the works, the walls, and the plan: wall construction, weight loads, sight lines, lighting, and any security or environmental requirements. Heights and placements are confirmed with the curator, designer, or owner. Then the work goes up on hardware rated for it, level, secure, and documented.

Deinstallation gets the same discipline in reverse, because most damage to art happens during handling, not display. Works come down in controlled order, are condition-checked against existing reports, and are soft-packed or crated by the same team, so nothing changes hands between the wall and the truck.

In private homes, the installation standard travels with us. Floors are protected, walls are marked only where agreed, debris leaves with the crew, and the homeowner approves each placement before a single anchor is set. The result should look like the art was always there and the installers never were.

FAQ

Got Questions? We've got answers

We answer the questions people actually ask before hiring a mover: licensing, coverage, pricing, and what happens on moving day.

What kinds of works do you install?
Arrow Down

Paintings, works on paper, mirrors, tapestries, photography, and sculpture, from intimate pieces to works requiring rigging. If it hangs, stands, or mounts, our preparators have likely installed its cousin.

Do you handle deinstallation and re-hanging?
Arrow Down

Yes. We take down existing works, condition-check and pack them, and install their replacements in one coordinated visit, which is how galleries handle exhibition turnover.

Will you work with our curator, registrar, or designer?
Arrow Down

Always. Placement decisions belong to the curator, designer, or owner; the engineering of getting work safely onto the wall belongs to us. The collaboration is the job.

What about difficult walls like plaster, brick, or stone?
Arrow Down

Hardware is selected for the wall as much as the work: plaster, masonry, paneling, and modern drywall each call for different anchors and methods. We assess before drilling anything.

Do you do site visits before installation day?
Arrow Down

For complex projects, yes. A walkthrough confirms wall conditions, access, and placement plans so installation day holds no surprises. Single-piece residential installs can usually be assessed on arrival.

Can you install oversized mirrors and very heavy works?
Arrow Down

Yes. Heavy and oversized works are why professional installation exists: wall structure is assessed, load-rated hardware is used, and enough trained hands are on site to control the piece at every moment.
